Dialogue and Networking Session in Kuala Lumpur: Journalism, Human Rights, and Truth in Times of Conflict

On 19 September 2025, Kuala Lumpur will host an interactive dialogue and networking session “REPORTING CONFLICTS AND TRUTH: Journalism, Human Rights, and Justice in Times of Conflict.”


The event is organised by the Embassy of Ukraine in Malaysia in partnership with Gerakan Media Merdeka (GERAMM), the Centre for Independent Journalism (CIJ), and the Public Interest Journalism Lab. It will bring together representatives of the Ukrainian government, Malaysian media, and international partners to discuss the challenges and opportunities of reporting on war and human rights in the digital age.


Guest speakers include:


Nataliya Gumenyuk – Ukrainian journalist, author, CEO of the Public Interest Journalism Lab, and co-founder of The Reckoning Project;


Tamila Tasheva – Member of the Parliament of Ukraine, Head of the Subcommittee on the Restoration of State Authority in the Temporarily Occupied Territories, former Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea (2022–2024), and co-founder of CrimeaSOS.


The event will take place at Menara Tan & Tan, 207, Jln Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur.
